I have just changed the player to reflect some mid through late 80's. I have spared you all The Bangles, my love affair w/Morrisey, and some other crap that no one can handle anymore. Also, I did not put up any "Hair Bands" and some Heavy Metal which I loved! I still to this day love AC/DC, Metallica, Ozzy, and Guns n' Roses. Maybe the next playlist will be dedicated to early metal?
Oopsy on the ones I forgot! Psychedelic Furs, Depeche Mode, etc. etc.

A touch of NEW...
Here are some of the latest...
I've also made some fabulous, (if I do say so myself;) custom invitations but I need to watermark them before I post. Working on my own site, eating strange Asian bread that tastes like butter but there is no butter in them...
I mentioned about a month ago during my fascination w/The Runaways that I was reading Suzi Quatro's biography. Well, sorry Suzi I bad mouthed the writing too soon because you have had one hell of a life! Amazing just for the connections alone! As some of you might remember Ms. Quatro played Leather on "Happy Days" in the 70's. She also was extremely popular in Europe and Australia for her rock 'n roll attitude and of course Leather. Joan Jett followed her around like a groupie and that is how I got turned on to the info. regarding her in the first place! Man, my writing is atrocious today! Anywho, fantastic life story worth a read if you care about music and where rock 'n roll started.
I am concurrently reading "The Bipolar Diet". Mostly common sense approaches but also a lot of science regarding hormones, thyroid, and basic things lacking in people with this illness. I could write several books on it myself, but then I would become depressed!!! lol If you can't cry ya gotta laugh, I always say.
I'm just about to start more fantabulous reads, one is about a gal who rescues books that are about to burned by nazis in WWII. The other (keeping w/the theme), is about 4 holocaust survivors in an internment camp.
My plan/strategy for this week is to promise myself peace. I am not up to par w/my normal self and it's getting too much. So I'm not bidding on every job, going every place, or forcing myself to do anything yucky. School starts Tuesday and I'm hoping for the best.

This kid is f'n AWESOME!!!

Hopefully I will be continuing my musical tirade through mid to late 80's some time this week. Remember kiddies, before Ozzy was just Ozzy alone, he was the lead singer for Black Sabbath. But more on that later...
Weekend sums it up, pretty much nothing to report. We just had some serious Asian food. I can't tell you what type because I couldn't read the labels! lol I'm an ignorant American that goes to the Asian Grocery Store and hopes I can figure it out. I do have a new love for Thai tea. They assure me it's orange because of the type of tea it comes from. Husband all business all weekend. Major biz stuff happening for him so we won't be hanging out for oh, 2 months?? lol Poor guy♥ Grandma (who always reminds me she reads this:) is trying to kill us w/yet another chocolate banana bread. Who do you think ends up eating these things for breakfast when everyone else gets Mexican Food? I think I have gained 10 pounds this summer! Other than the usual crap, tomorrow is High School orientation for my oldest so I'll be a wreck again.
Off to work oh yes, there ain't days off in my life!

Let's get down to the "Situation"...
Last night Jersey Shore graced my presence again with their wonderful antics! If you are a current reader of this blog you know how much I love my Jersey Shore, because I constantly blog about the show.
Let's recap;
On a personal note, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola looks EXACTLY like me back in my early 20's. Now we have 60 pounds of fat separating us, but it's really kind of scary.
This week's episode brings us Sammi finding out that Ronnie has been screwing her over on a daily basis, but her girls don't even tell her face to face about it. They give her a crappy note and she of course falls apart. The "Situation" laughs about the note, girls don't really seem to care. There are rumors around the internet that J-Wow has a thing for Ronnie, thus the fighting.
MVP aka Michael Vincent Pauly, smoosh some ho's and fend off a grenade. Who was the cutest grenade ever and definitely not a hippo!
Other than that, not enough drinking or fun and I swear MTV has added some more commercial breaks.

Money makes the world go 'round...
And round and round, etc. etc...
As much as we all probably hate to admit it, without money you starve and someone else gets all the f'n cupcakes! So when it's tight things get ugly. I'm noticing lately that people are starting to really get angry about this recession/depression and they are taking it out on us poor service people. I have never had so many customers try to talk me down in price and/or up in free samples. I also have had some really strange clients that just dropped off the face of the Earth after ordering. I think people just accept bids in case as placeholders, then get it somewhere else cheaper. Either they don't realize that we actually take time to get things done and fit them into our schedules or they don't care.
If you want to find out what my work/time is really worth on the internet market just take a look at the many freelance sites. It's completely horrifying how little some people charge for things. I used to get down on Etsy clients who wanted the whole shebang of a logo for $30. Now I see people making a logo for literally $5! How the heck am I going to compete with that? Why even work, I could get more if I just sat here and asked my husband for it! lol I did have to lower my prices like crazy to stay in business and it makes me sick when people want a ton of something for nothing and don't understand that I actually do create these things. I mean, the computer ain't gonna just answer my email and pop out a design! lol

Which is how I found the cutie when I picked him up! Ahhh, if I'm going to get old and ugly, at least my kid will be happy.
The countdown is now on, only 1 week before moms everywhere enjoy a 9 month vacation!

Update on this.. I just heard that people are openly slamming the victim's family via T.V. and other outlets. Airing a minor's information has got to be illegal and as for doing it in the first place that's called "blaming the victim".
I'm so beyond disgusted!

Weekend Wrap Up
Thank you all so much for making my first Weekend Blog Hop a complete success! I met over 40 new friends and many more from visiting each of your blogs. I will definitely be continuing this next weekend and thereafter. Special thanks to everyone who promoted my hop, especially Pink Dandy who is just a doll!
So as we all wind down from what was supposed to be a weekend but seemed to go by in a 2 hour blur, I hope everyone is well. Summer is coming to an end (in theory, it will be 100 deg. here through October:( and kids are back to school soon. Can't say it was a really productive summer as far as outings away from home. But in regards to family fun, we had a blast! Lots of laughing, hanging out together, and cherishing the kids before they are too old to be smooshed☺ I've got my business down to a reasonable amount where I can sleep up to 5 hours a night, so that's good. I actually saw my best friend last week for the first time in 3 months and I never knew how much I missed my non-cyber life till I got that break. I've also been forcing myself to take my illustrations a lot more serious and really work from the ground up. Unlike some of my competitors (you lazy a$$es know who you are) I create most-all of my graphics from scratch. I am obsessed now with building the perfect woman! Not being creepy, I mean the perfect graphic of a woman! lol I've never really mastered making people so it's been a chore to say the least.
What weirdness lurks around the corner for you my dear readers? A lot of biography reviews, more thoughts on Jersey Shore, music of the mid-late 80's and why a 39 yr. old already has empty nest syndrome!
Sure there's a lot more, but my house is suddenly filling up with the a$$y smell of hamburger helper that my 14 yr. old is cooking, so I have to go fast and fling open all the doors/windows!

Let's talk about one of the WORST...
Real World shows ever!
To begin with, what an ugly bunch! At first I thought the blonde gal was cute, but then she gets stinkin' drunk all the time (not a good look for anyone) and passes out. Worst part other than old men raping her constantly, she thinks it's a normal thing! Other roommates try and help but give up because lets face it, no one really does care and they got their own manipulations going on.
Back to the Adams Family, I should really not say that because The Adam's family was much more attractive and definitely more interesting. The boys on this show are probably the most unattractive of all reality shows on MTV. It's not only their ugly mugs, but their personalities are bland/stupid. Only thing of note, the blonde hairstylist guy who is a complete homophobe, blow dries his crotch for kicks! No, sadly I kid you not. Yet no one is very alarmed by this. I kind of got that icky feeling when I saw it ya know, like when someone is talking about a child molester or a mom who beats her children. It's just that much out of the norm that it gets to me. Which must be really, really, weird because almost nothing is out of my realm...
Reaching desperately here to come up with some more to say, but it's been blah, blah, blah. I cannot wait till another challenge is one soon. On a fab note, "Teen Mom" continues to be really interesting. Farrah is becoming a better mom and not forgetting, dropping, or locking out her baby too much. Macy continues to be awesome and I'm sure if she had been 35 when she had Bentley there would have been no improvements necessary for her awesome parenting skills. I see women all the time that don't make decisions so positively for their children. Amber is looking slender and prettier as her whale ( I like whales but they don't drool like her boyfriend) of a man just gets messier and messier. Does anyone else notice that their house is starting to look like they need a hoarder intervention? Last but not least, Caitlyn and Tyler. Now I really used to like the support and little bit of maturity these kids gave each other. But it was not to last, they are now acting like idiots. Tyler is on a rampage because 3 years ago Caitlyn had another bfriend and screwed him before she took his virginity. But it doesn't end there, Caitlyn also called him 6 times and actually spoke with him about 2 times. So Tyler must have her phone records now. This is really important sh&t when you have alcoholic abusive parents that are in/out of jail. Needless to say, after treating the mother of his child like dog cr*p (which she fully allows him to do), Tyler's mom brings him back down to Earth. All I can say after being married for going on 16 years is that not every day is gonna be funsies and ya gotta work! I won't even go into all the SERIOUS stuff that has happened to us in the last 16 years. But we weren't much older than these people and somehow with even worse things going on we managed to tough it out for our kids. I'm just getting disgusted by how little people are willing to do for their kids and relationships.
Saved the best for last! Jersey Shore amazement and fun, I cannot wait till Thursday night! I feel like they are really stretching out the "Situations" (pun intended:) so that we don't get too much info. I think Sammie is the most gorgeous, skinny thing, and I have no clue why she is hanging out w/these schmucks at all.
New Jersey phrases this season;
You Do You, I'll Do Me, Go Out and Do You, etc. etc. I feel like I'm having a French verb thing and I have to break it down to personal, groups, blah, blah.
Do you want to smoosh me? Which I guess can mean make out, screw, any type of Snooki touching.
IFF Which I think means something like "I'm F'd Foundation??" Either way, Roni is the president of it. Short caveat about Roni, noticed his last name is Ortiz. Now all of my SoCal friends with this name are Mexican and I don't think Mexico is anywhere near Italy? But my geography sucks so I might be wrong. Either way, love my Mexicans and Italians but let's not claim one if we aren't it, k?
So we are still creepin' for girls, GTL'n our asses off, and I'm sure we will learn more Jersey phrasing soon. Can I just move there now? 'Cause I really think I can pull off everything but the poof. Snooki, if you are out there girl, how the heck do I get the damn pouf?

I see women all the time that don't make decisions so positively for their children. Amber is looking slender and prettier as her whale ( I like whales but they don't drool like her boyfriend) of a man just gets messier and messier. Does anyone else notice that their house is starting to look like they need a hoarder intervention? Last but not least, Caitlyn and Tyler. Now I really used to like the support and little bit of maturity these kids gave each other. But it was not to last, they are now acting like idiots. Tyler is on a rampage because 3 years ago Caitlyn had another bfriend and screwed him before she took his virginity. But it doesn't end there, Caitlyn also called him 6 times and actually spoke with him about 2 times. So Tyler must have her phone records now. This is really important sh&t when you have alcoholic abusive parents that are in/out of jail. Needless to say, after treating the mother of his child like dog cr*p (which she fully allows him to do), Tyler's mom brings him back down to Earth. All I can say after being married for going on 16 years is that not every day is gonna be funsies and ya gotta work! I won't even go into all the SERIOUS stuff that has happened to us in the last 16 years. But we weren't much older than these people and somehow with even worse things going on we managed to tough it out for our kids. I'm just getting disgusted by how little people are willing to do for their kids and relationships.
Saved the best for last! Jersey Shore amazement and fun, I cannot wait till Thursday night! I feel like they are really stretching out the "Situations" (pun intended:) so that we don't get too much info. I think Sammie is the most gorgeous, skinny thing, and I have no clue why she is hanging out w/these schmucks at all.
New Jersey phrases this season;
You Do You, I'll Do Me, Go Out and Do You, etc. etc. I feel like I'm having a French verb thing and I have to break it down to personal, groups, blah, blah.
Do you want to smoosh me? Which I guess can mean make out, screw, any type of Snooki touching.
IFF Which I think means something like "I'm F'd Foundation??" Either way, Roni is the president of it. Short caveat about Roni, noticed his last name is Ortiz. Now all of my SoCal friends with this name are Mexican and I don't think Mexico is anywhere near Italy? But my geography sucks so I might be wrong. Either way, love my Mexicans and Italians but let's not claim one if we aren't it, k?
So we are still creepin' for girls, GTL'n our asses off, and I'm sure we will learn more Jersey phrasing soon. Can I just move there now? 'Cause I really think I can pull off everything but the poof. Snooki, if you are out there girl, how the heck do I get the damn pouf?

Joy Division
I just posted a new music player and it's called "Beyond Random". Since I've been totally obsessed w/70's rock lately, I forgot how much I loved the early '80s!
So enjoy a bit of Generation X and the amazing Joy Division! For all of those who don't know Generation X, it's Billy Idol's band from before he went solo.
This above doc is amazing! There is also one about their lead singer Ian Curtis called "Control". Although I can't say I enjoyed it because it's truly sad, I really, really, would recommend it as a great watch.
I think The Plymsouls might be on there too? I need to check these things out better before I go and post about 'em! lol Plymsouls sang Million Miles away, big '80's song and they also did a lot of the soundtrack for the beyond guilty pleasure movie, "Valley Girl". Another note, the only movie where Nicholas Cage was near attractive/interesting.
Just looked, there is also a mess of kuntry on there and some Zeppelin. What a weirdo mix!

Why I won't post "real" pictures on my blog.
Hey all, time to address yet another serious/controversial issue. This time it's "Why the heck won't you put up some personal pictures so we can all see your fat a$$?" Okay, so maybe in the scheme of the universe my a&& ain't that fat! But this isn't the real reason. The web and it's anonymity are a scary thing. So when you already have a bunch of strangers who know your address, stats, and where you spend your evenings, you don't want to throw the images out there too! lol (Just for the curious out there, I designed the header gal to resemble me, all that's missing is the boobies;)
Web Anonymity
Sometimes web anonymity can be fantastic, like when Cherie Currie stops by your blog anonymously. Sometimes it can be downright scary! The more I work online and learn about networking/marketing/etc. I realize how much we are all putting ourselves out there. When we are online we feel free to do things we would never do in person. The meekest of the meek, the shyest of the shy, the angriest of the angry, they have all found a place where no one can see them or directly accuse them of inappropriate behavior. This all leads into the "Why don't people pay?" Well, that's because there is no enforcer for anonymity. As the web grows up we will easily be able to track everyone who visits, comments, doesn't pay, etc. But for now, unless someone (god forbid) is dead, the police aren't coming after that guy on Guru who didn't pay for his logo and left you a nasty comment!
I have heard so many stories of kids being lured by false images and information, I can only imagine what's happening out there that we don't hear about. This is why I will not post any pictures of myself and my kids. Now my husband, that's a different story!! lol But I do try to be as careful as possible. I'm sure I've already put myself out there way too much. But if any of you dangerous freaks are reading now, you will know that I lock my house like I'm on the ground floor of a New York City apt., and my dogs would bite the cr&p out of ya! As far as when I'm walking around, I guard my cubs.
How sad is this that I feel threatened by anonymous forces lying in wait? And sadder still is the anger/backlash people vent on the web, because they can't let it out in real life to who really deserves it. Bullies of the web, get some therapy, have a prozac, and eat a f'n cupcake!
Thanks so much to all my friends old and new for keeping up with my daily rants! I'm sure there will be more order to my thoughts later, right now I just need to wake up! lol

Why I love The Runaways...
So if you have been reading the last couple of weeks, you have realized by now that my current obsession is with The Runaways. No, I'm not a stalker! I truly long for the days where you could smoke a cigarette, hang out all night, roll on 4 wheels, keep your comb in your back pocket, rock a pretty feathered mullet, be sexy jailbait, and appreciate your record player! Honestly, really, I don't care what someone else is charging/giving, this is what I can do for you.
Hello All, another day another $1. Too bad no one is giving me that $1! lol Not gonna name names, this ain't calling out Etsy!
Wanted to address yet another woe of being a graphic designer, the lowballer. Now as most of you fantastic designers out there know, your services are usually under estimated and not appreciated for how much work you put in. Every chance these cheapos get they are luring you in w/the simple job ploy, small revision, etc. etc. You end up redoing their logo, formatting a brochure, and correcting the html on their site for $20!! As one person put it, "I don't get out of bed for anything under ____insert price amount here". I feel the same, except I need that $$$ for things and I'm willing to sell myself to the devil to get it. Okay, maybe not the devil, but some less than savory clients.
Let's address the BS that is coming at me from my Freelance sites...
Why can't I have unlimited revisions? Other designers are giving me unlimited mock ups/revisions for $25!
Answer- Does this even really deserve an answer? Come on people, why should I put in 8 hours of work for $25? If someone is willing to do that we have to assume their income is way below poverty level and/or they need bits for their portfolio.
Other designers have made from scratch illustrations and original fonts for less than $50.
Answer- Well, if they told you they were OOAK they either lied and/or had premade them. There is not way that anyone will make you an illustration for that amount of money. Maybe a circle?
I don't like anything you've given me so I don't want to pay. Other people I've worked with gave me my money back.
Answer- Seems like this type of customer has a problem working with one designer and wants everyone to chip in to his bank! If you pay for 5 mock ups/revisions and after all that you are unhappy, the work was done and gone. If you want to pay $500 I'll come over to your house and give you as many mock ups/revisions as you like! lol
DISCLAIMER!!! I have very wonderful clients so you know who you are and this is completely irrelevant to you. Thanks for working with me.
It's a sloooooow day here, not something I say often. I've been eating magic cookie bars instead of meals and it's working out fine☺ My husband is asleep, my oldest is complaining, and my youngest is talking to his video game. Overall, a perfect lazy day!

Monday, Monday...
Hey y'all! Back to work now, oh wait, I never stopped working! lol So fab new blog award, great weekend, and now back to the old salt mines.
Agenda today besides working, working out for at least 2-4 hours to burn off cupcake frosting I consumed this morning and during the weekend. Seems my hubby loves me so much he wants me to have 2 asses!
I'm now deep within the Suzi Quatro bio, (played Leather on Happy Days). Love you Suzi, but one word that you forgot "Ghostwriter". As I'm reading it I feel like I need to drink 10 cups of coffee and do a lot of speed to keep up! As Robert Plant always says... "Ramble On!"
In other news, there really isn't any. I must make it to my volunteer job tomorrow or I will be put on the elderly "Top Ten Most Hated" list. It's not that I don't love my people, it's that btwn. work/kids/pups, etc. etc. it's just easier to do everything here. I'm supposed to be meeting with a new couple that are actual holocaust survivors that escaped the camps. I cannot wait to meet them and show them some love and kindness. I really do feel good volunteering and it's way better than working!
Alas, the clients are beckoning and I must pretend I have a job!

My Dog Ate Poop This Morning....
It wasn't human poop or anything, but still gross! The perils of having a pack, where is Cesar Milan when you need him?
Other than that, perfect day really! Hardly worked, took an hour walk uphill, was treated to breakfast/cupcakes/dinner. Enjoyed watching children destroy Guitar Center and then buy everything at Best Buy. Got a really cool microphone so now I can play back my bad singing on the computer! I plan on loading a song for all of you, so you may want to put down the volume next time you visit☺
Here is a new PIF. I coined this one on the other blog when I was forbidden by the husband, aka overlord of the web, from using social sites instead of spending time w/family and friends in real life!

I just got a comment below that says it's from Cherie Currie and I'm beyond freaking out!!!! If this is really you I have to apologize if I sounded like a huge BITCH! I have been obsessively thinking about everything I read in your book for a week now and it put me into a big 'ol funk. (But good to remember where you have been so you don't go there again:) So know that I appreciate the message for the kiddies about not doing drugs and I was right there with you in the 80's. Born in '71 so I missed the great Bowie music and I was stuck w/China Girl Bowie.

For a hollywood version of the book (but still fab) The Runaways movie is a great watch!
Not a crazed fan, just someone who absolutely loves your work and is nostalgic for the music! Plus, being an artist I understand how putting all your energy into creative pursuits can really help out the psyche.

Catching up on cr*p!
Hello all!
I've been busy trying to have somewhat of a personal life off the web this past week. Even though I have over 15 current clients, everyone seems to be taking it slow for the summer.
So here's what's up...
Band is getting a lot better and of course so is my singing! We are going to record our whole set list soon and I'm hoping to post it here. My friend wants to do a UTube video but the boys are shy! Which is completely ridiculous since they are awesome!!!
Read/watched The Runaways and "Neon Angel" by Cherie Currie. After reading this book I decided I would continue to not do drugs and/or act like an idiot! Remember girls, it is true what they say that if you get in a car with strangers you will get raped or worse, so please don't. Thank you.
Also watched a foreign film called "Kiss" which was just beautiful! Not going to give anything away here because the movie is more of a feeling than a story. But if you just want to experience a mix of childhood excitement and a new country, this is the movie for you.
I've been working out for over an hour a day and I've gained 5 pounds!!! Go figure, it had to happen to me. I bought the gimmicky shoes that promise you some fab calves and a$$, so I'm going to go walk today and see if I look like a MILF again after that. On another beauty subject, how the hell did I ever keep these fake nails on when I created jewelry? I keep breaking them just walking around. Another unhealthy thing I'm doing for myself (to myself), is baking my brains out in the sun every day. The only thing that is stopping me from getting my Jersey tan on at the salon is that it's summer and the sun is free. But since I'm going to get cancer anyways from growing up in the 80's (think about this), I really want to tan in the winter.
That last paragraph reminded me, JERSEY FRICKIN' SHORE! Love it, need it, can't get enough!!! The funniest thing about this show is I grew up in NYC and everyone there rips on Jersey. We won't even fly into their airport when we go home! I love my Jersey people, but a lot of the cr*p on the show is true, I swear it! I think this is what brainwashed me on the fake tan/nails again. We all got a little Jersey bitch in there somewhere☺
So you are probably thinking "Tara is the shallowest gal in the world!" No, I'm actually just kind of having my 10th mid life breakdown/crisis. I'm still volunteering, working, being the weirdest mom on the block (county). This summer sh*t has got to go. If these kids don't start High School and Middle School soon I'm going to lose it worrying. Trying to distract myself and that's how the Jersey glow started! I'll be back to my hippy roots in Sept. and drop the kids off in my P.J.'s, no makeup, and a mug 'o' black coffee. Right now, I want to look like I actually got out of bed! lol
Also reading, watching, listening, etc. Joan Jett and The Runaways music. Not as good as expected, still kinda fun. Really sounds dated and that freaks me because I grew up with Joan Jett. Also enjoying Boston, The Beatles, and Zeppelin. See, I'm having a f'n mid-life crisis! I haven't listened to this stuff since I was a teenager. The band also does a lot of this kind of rock, Rush, ZZTop, Creedence. I honestly hate singing it, I'd rather do girly songs. I'm going to start reading Suzie Quatro, Unzipped today. She's like the pre-Joan Jett so hopefully it will put me in a good '70's, Matt Dillon (think Little Darlings), Camero driving, bell bottom wearing, mood! That Cherie Currie book just sucked the fun right outta the 70's! Some people should just not do drugs! I mean ALL people should not do drugs...
Okay friends, off to get this party started, nails fixed, back to school hats bought, and maybe a movie?
